The Riverview Holden Collection

It is proposed to open on "Riverview" a motor museum dedicated to the iconic Holden car. This will be a venue where generations of Holden and automotive lovers can step back in time. Here they will be able to view those vehicles that transported a nation. They can still take pride in what Australia produced, savour the styling, appreciate the quaintness.

Riverview Holdens

Riverview Holdens

The first Holden acquired was a 1964 Holden EH Special Station Sedan. From that humble beginning a large number ( approximately fifty six ) Holden cars have been collected. Every model from the 48-215 to the HZ have been collected. Even though Holdens were a mass produced vehicle with thousands being built, some forty years on these cars are some of the last examples still in existence. Many of these cars are either rare or have rare Nasco Holden accessories fitted to them. It becomes apparent that at the time of their release they represented the cutting edge in the very latest of automotive design and technology. Their designs, paint combinations and colours, attention to details in the areas of individualism of trim and accessories appointments creates an awareness that vehicles were not just means of transport. They embodied and provided an area where pride could really be displayed. The first complete restoration, being an EH utility, is currently taking place.

"Riverview Holdens" are proudly displayed annually on the third weekend of November. Here is a chance for interested persons to view an unusual and rare display of unrestored and original Holden vehicles. Come and see the Holden range displayed in the beautiful Fern Hills valley.

As you walk and browse you will be transported back in time, here are the cars of your youth, your grandparents or parents car, the neighbours up the street, the car you went camping in. Be aware that these beautiful cars have a real place in the automotive history of Australia. As you view them you will observe that the fuel they ran on is no longer manufactured, the tyres no longer manufactured, the radios fitted no longer can be tuned to the radio air waves.

The extensive use of chrome no longer used in vehicle manufacture, stainless steel striping no longer used. You will note that an extensive list of accessories to individualise your Holden is no longer available to modern Holden owners. The sheer simplicity and quaintness of the dashboard layout is something that appeals to those driving complicated computer based contemporary motor vehicles. Was life really that simple back then?
